Three New Bags !

Today I made three new Bags !

I have a storage tub full of meeky fabric.  I have been wanting to make several new bags large enough to hold crochet blanket.

First I made the Pink and White Plaid Bag. I cut this fabric 20" wide slavage to slavage.  I choose not to put any pockets in.  I used Quilt cotton for the interior of the bag, and 2" cotton web for handles.  I made the box bottom 5 5".

Next I made the Red Buffalo Check Bag.  I decided to go big with this bag.  I cut the meeky fabric 22" wide salvage to salvage.  I cut the box bottom 6 x6".  I did add interior pockets to this bag on both sides.  I cut two pieces of black canvas 12 x22", then folded it in half for the pockets.

I used 2" Black Cotton Webbing for the Handles. I left the Handles long at 28".

The meeky Fabric is super hard to work with.  It is bulky and he sewing machine loves to snag it.  But the end result is worth it.

The Final Bag of the day was an 18" Meeky Print.  I love this print.

I cut the exterior and interior fabric 18" wide salvage to salvage.

I did not add any pockets to this bag.  I did use the Black canvas and the 2" Black Cotton Wedding Handles for this Bag.

It was well worth it.

I can see myself using these new bags for so many things : Diaper Bag, Toy Bag, Project Bag.... The list is endless.

I have one more plaid fabric yet to use.  I love the meeky print and  hate the idea of cutting it even though I bought it with the intention of making a bag.

Maybe tomorrow I will get brave enought to cut it .

Happy Making !
